One of the biggest welterweight fights between of the year between Darren Till and Tyrone Woodley is just a week and away and if there’s something that’s on the mind of most fight fans is if the Liverpudlian can make weight?

People are worried and rightly so, because Darren Till has had a lot of difficulties making welterweight limit, he has missed the weight twice and most recently in his last fight against former title challenger Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson at UFC fight night 130 when he missed the welterweight limit by 3.5 pounds.

It might be one of the reasons why Darren Till has already started talking about moving up in the weight class.

“I just f–king hate it,” Till said about cutting weight ahead of UFC 228. “I could be three kilos from right now, I just hate it. I’m good. I’m OK. This is probably the leanest I’ve ever been two weeks out. I’m lean, I’ve got more muscle than my last fight. I’ve probably got about the same muscle as the fight before with[Donald] Cerrone and that weight cut, that was a piece of piss. Let’s hope it’s the same.

“I just hate cutting weight. Only a few more fights at welterweight and then that will be done.”

“You could be looking at two or three fights at welterweight,” Till said about his future. “That’s me done. I’m 25 now, I’m not putting my body through this much longer.”

Darren Till says when he moves up to middleweight, he will first prove himself to be worthy contender.

“When I take that belt, I want to defend the belt and then I want to go up to middleweight,” Till explained. “That doesn’t mean I want to go up to middleweight and challenge the champion. I would like to earn my stripes in that division, too.

“I feel like there’s a lot of good guys in that division. There’s one guy I’d wouldn’t like to fight, Yoel Romero. I’m glad he’s going up, he’s a f–king beast.”

If I did go to middleweight and the UFC offered me the title, I’m not going to say no but I’m saying I’d love to earn my stripes,” Till said. “For me going up to middleweight, I’m not focusing on the belt. I know I’m the best, I know I will win that belt as well.”
