UFC 241 is a wrap! It featured a rematch of ages as former double champ and heavyweight champion Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier took on former champ Stipe Miocic.
Result was different this time around as Miocic floored Cormier to win the fight via TKO in the fourth round. Cormier was dominating the fight until Miocic came up with a brilliant game plan to attack Cormier’s body which was instrumental in the finish.
Cormier, known for taking his losses to the chin, was classy as usual as he opened up his silence on social media. Cormier, the champ he is, gave absolutely no excuses and also congratulated Stipe Miocic for regaining his title to become the heavyweight champion for the second time. (via Instagram):

To my wife and kids I am so sorry you guys had to experience that, I never wanted y’all to see that and the hurt you guys showed breaks my heart everytime I think about it. My coaches I am sorry, i appreciate the work and time you’ve spent with me. My fans, thank you guys for all the love and support you have guided me to all these amazing accomplishments. Stipe Miocic and his team, congratulations on a tremendous victory, you showed so much heart and grit, you are the definition of Cleveland tough. @danawhite And all at the @ufc thank you all for everything you have done for me and my family. This has been the most amazing journey, I will decide what I am gonna do now, and as soon as I decide you will all know right away. I love you all. DC
Cormier (40) might have retirement on his mind however irrespective of what he decides to do so, he’ll always be one if the best to do this. Cormier was only the second (ouf of three) fighters to hold belts in two weight classes simultaneously. Cormier is the only champion to successfully defended his belt in both the classes.
