UFC: Derrick Lewis vs Francis Ngannou set for UFC 226 in July

Already much anticipated UFC 226 card just got bigger, literally bigger as #6 ranked heavyweight Derrick ‘the Black Beast’ Lewis (19-5 (1) MMA, 10-3 UFC) takes on #1 ranked Francis ‘the Predator’ Ngannou (11-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) at UFC 226 on July 7.

The octagon at the T-Mobile Arena would be loaded as these fighters who need to cut weight to actually fulfill the 265 pound heavyweight limit engage in a wild slugfest. The fight between these two heavyweights was meant to be, but they never crossed paths. With the heavyweight title being on the line on the same night, the winner of this particular fight can go for an immediate call out. (via Twitter):

The Texas native Lewis is fresh of his victory over a gritty Marcin Tybura via third round TKO in February. Lewis had to deal with some adversity in the first two rounds as Tybura would pin him on the ground taking the gas out of him. However, Lewis managed to get the fight standing and secure a come from behind victory in the third round getting his title run back on track.

Ngannou on the other hand, became the third victim of UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in his last outing. Ngannou went into the fight with a lot of hype brutally knocking out former title challenger and MMA legend Alistair Overeem. However, Miocic defeated Ngannou in a lopsided 25 minute fight. Ngannou would like to get himself back on winning ways for another title run.

Lewis has called out Ngannou on numerous occasions over the course of his UFC tenure. Lewis recently posted a comic post on Instagram with reference to both of their weak link which is cardio. (via Instagram):
