Anthony Smith had one of the finest performances of his career Saturday night at UFC 225. The performance put him back in the win column in his light heavyweight debut aginst Rashad Evans, following his loss to middleweight Thiago Santos in his last outing.

After his win, Smith had expressed his desire to fight on August 25. Fellow light heavyweight, Devin Clark wasted no time in welcoming him to the division and offered to fight him on his above mentioned date.
Great fight the other night man, welcome to the division. Now how about we put on a little Midwest showdown August 25? @lionheartsmith @Mickmaynard2 @ufc @MataLeonMGMT https://t.co/6p8VMqIzcs

A “Dana White : Looking for a fight” product, Clark has trained with former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. He, too, is coming back into the win column off a unanimous decision victory over Mike Rodriguez at UFC 223. On the other hand, Smith looked great in his last fight, despite it lasting less than a minute. The 29-year old remains one of the best pure finishers in the buisness, so it would be interesting to see how he climbs up the, rather short, light heavyweight division.
