UFC bantamweight division has formed an interesting trio with current champ T.J. Dillashaw and former champs Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt having rivalries amongst themselves.
However a rivalry between Dillashaw and Garbrandt was done and dusted last weekend at UFC 227 when Dillashaw knocked out Garbrandt for the second time. With that being settled, former champ Dominick Cruz who is ready to return back into action wants to fight Dillashaw for the title.
“I know I deserve that title shot,” said Cruz, “because I defended that title more times than anyone in the history of the division.”
Dillashaw with two knockouts of Garbrandt is in discussion for the best bantamweight ever, a title which once belonged to Cruz. Cruz obviously wants to cement that.
“The problem is, I beat him already. You can’t be the best unless you beat the guy that beat you,” Cruz said. “It’s just common sense. Everybody in the world knows that, including him.”
