Dominick ‘The Dominator’ Cruz is arguably one of the best bantamweights and undoubtedly one of the best fighters to ever step inside the octagon.
However, his legendary career was heavily affected from injuries, what could potentially have career ending consequences. The case was no different after losing his title to Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207 back in December 2016.
Cruz was scheduled to fight surging contender Jimmie Rivera a year later at UFC 219. Cruz suffered a broken arm forcing him to pull out of the fight.
However ‘The Dominator’ is now recovered and ready to capture his throne again.
“I just got cleared by the doctor so I’m good to go. I’ll talk to [Sean] Shelby, I’ll talk to everybody. I’m on track though.”
Cruz has his eye on the upcoming UFC 227 main event between bantamweight champion T.J.Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
“I am going to fight before the end of the year is my goal. We’ll see what happens. I know TJ Dillashaw and Cody [Garbrandt] are fighting and I should be having the winner of that, that’s what everybody wants to see. So hopefully somebody gets some wits about ’em and gives me that fight right away and we’ll see what happens.”
