UFC: Dominick Cruz says he could defeat Floyd Mayweather with 1-arm tied behind his back in MMA

The latest UFC fighter gunning for that Floyd Mayweather paycheck seems to be former UFC bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz.

Speaking to TMZ, and asked his opinion on how Floyd will fare inside the Octagon if the boxer’s latest quip that he’ll train for 6-8 months before his first MMA fight is true, Cruz broke down the scenario clearly like he always does.

Cruz initially credited Floyd for teaming with Tyron Woodley – a fighter he noted who had almost exclusively focussed on his takedown defence against Demian Maia in his previous fight – to shore up his ability to keep the fight standing.

That said, however, Cruz still maintained that 6-8 months is next to nothing should Floyd hope to be adequately prepared for stepping up against elite competition in MMA as he would primarily only be depending on only one skill – boxing –  in a game that encompasses many.

And he also added that he could beat Floyd with one hand tied behind his back should he ever face him.

Watch Dominick Cruz don his analyst hat and break down Floyd Mayweather’s chances in MMA here:

Dominick Cruz last fought at UFC 207, where he lost his UFC Title to Cody Garbrandt in a one-sided fight. Cruz had previously been undefeated for a decade.

He was booked to fight the up and coming Jimmie Rivera at UFC 219 but pulled out with a broken arm. His return date is not yet announced, and it seems unclear as to who he would fight next too.

Cruz has a victory over current UFC bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw.
