The UFC is finally going to Russia. After years of plotting a move into Russia, the UFC has officially announced a card set to take place at the Olimpiyskiy Arena in Moscow on Sept. 15. This is a special occasion for UFC, as they have been planning to break into the Russian Market for a long time.
Despite all the hype and buzz around UFC Moscow, the legendary Russian MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko will not be present in attendance as he is not interested in UFC.
”Russia has its own promotions, but many people are waiting for the UFC. Bellator, too,” Fedor told Sport24. “Personally, I am not a fan of the UFC, so I will most likely not go there.”
Emilianenko is the president of the Russian MMA Union — the regulatory body which commissions MMA fights in Russia.
Fedor Emelianenko is set to fight Chael Sonnen in Bellator event in October.
