Darren Till has got his wish fulfilled.

It can be argued that the UFC’s welterweight division is currently the most exciting division. It houses exciting top contenders such as Stephen Thompson, Rafael dos Anjos Colby Covington, etc. While also possessing other rising contenders such as Darren Till and Santiago Ponzinibbio. Hence, the fans are certainly in for a treat as the two best strikers in the division are now expected to go toe to toe with each other.

Till who is currently ranked seventh in the division had been calling out the number one ranked Thompson for a long time. While Thompson had been reluctant to accept the bout, as he claimed that he has nothing to gain from this match-up.

The UFC matchmakers have accepted Till’s demands by making a fight with Till. The news was first broken out by BJ Penn.com and it was later confirmed by MMA Fighting. The UFC made the news official by announcing it on their social media handles. Below is the tweet by the UFC’s official Twitter handle:

Till seemed delightful by the official announcement of the fight. He reacted in a video given to MMA Nytt by stating that he believes, Thompson is one of the best strikers in the UFC but he considers himself to be the best. He also claimed that he will knock ‘Wonderboy’ out inside the five rounds.
