After a year long absence from the Octagon, Cynthia finally made her come back, with a quick submission victory over the rising Brazilian star Botelho. When she first made her debut in 2017, Cynthia took the strawweight division by storm. With her 4 appearances last year, Cynthia defeated Amanda Cooper, Joanne Calderwood & Pearl Gonzalez with spectacular performances. But her rise was halted when Calra Esparza defeated her in a grueling battle. It’s been a tough year and a tough weight cut for her, but she proved everyone why she is the next strawweight to watch out for. Her striking looked on point and once she got the takedown, it just latched on to it and made her way in securing the rear naked choke with just 12 seconds on the clock. With this win she’s catching up to the current champion for the most number of finishes in the division. With a couple of more dominant wins in 2019, Cynthia could be lining up for the title shot

When you get a call from the UFC to fight on a short notice, that too against a UFC veteran then you need to put everything you’ve got on the line and that’s exactly Ian Heinisch did tonight. He started aggressively in the round 1 as he moved forward and forced Cezar to backup. Ian kept his cool as he ate leg kicks and crounters from Cezar. Once they got into clinch, Ian quickly jumped to an arm-in guillotine and transitioned into an armbar Cerrone style in the final seconds of the first round. The pace continued from Ian who attempted for a kimura and landed a right hand that dropped Ferreira in the second. Even the final round, didnt slow down Ian who continued to be the aggressor and controlled the fight up until the final seconds.

Now that’s how you say hello to the UFC fans! A knockout win over the guy who knocked out Gokhan Saki in his previous fight. Johnny Walker had no chill and zero respect for Khalil’s striking skills. The lanky Brazilian stayed light on his feet and kept Khalil at bay with his long range. When he closed the distance, he quickly got the thai clinch and landed a short elbow that dropped Khalil. With just a follow up punch required, Walker shut the lights.

Darren Elkins had no business inside the octagon against Ricardo Lamas. He did prove that he’s a tough nut to crack, but with that fighting style he was constantly getting tagged. By the end of second round, Elkins’ face was messed up and he could hardly land any shots on Lamas. The first two rounds were in the favour of Lamas who continued to counter every move and fend off the takedowns from Elkins. The elbow from Lamas on the ground changed the course as he finds an angle to pass Elkins’ guard and lands more punches from the top. Elkins looking to escape the barrage of strikes rolls over and goes belly down but Lamas is quick to land more hammerfists that bring the end to the one sided beatdown.
