UFC Fight Night 154 ‘Moicano vs. Korean Zombie’ – Play by Play Updates & LIVE Results

Kevin Holland defeated Alessio Di Chirico via Unanimous Decision

The main event opening fight was an all out kickboxing fight as Holland and Chirico exchanged punches and kicks. Chirico landed the most damaging strikes in the first round and got it in his favour. Holland came back strong in the second round as he landed some knees in the clinch followed by a quick take down. It seemed like Holland had injured his right shoulder in the second round, as he replied mostly on his left arm to land punches, which caused the third round to slow down a bit and the crowd going restless. Holland is now on a three fight win streak after his first UFC loss.

Andrea Lee defeated Montana De La Rosa via Unanimous Decision

It was a long time coming for two tormer training partners Andrea Lee and Montana De La Rosa from the flyweight division to collide inside the octagon and it was a fight to watch for as Andrea handed Montana her first octagon loss. Andrea worked on her take down defense which were evident in her defending them repeatedly. It was a jab early in the first round that wobbled Montana who later changed her game plan to take the fight to the ground. Montana succeeded in securing a take down but was unable to keep Lee there, who once on her feet began piecing Montana with her striking. With this win, Lee stays undefeated in the UFC with 3-0 and improved he record to 11-2.

Andre Ewell defeated Anderson Dos Santos via Unanimous Decision

Andre Ewell controlled the majority of the fight with his crisp striking and repeatedly exploiting Santos’ defense. But in the final round, Santos came back to take Ewell to the ground and land some GnP which was not enough for him to get the win. Ewell’s straight left was the money shot which he wisely used all through the fight to keep the aggression of Santos under control who was getting boxed up. Even his corner advised him to avoid boxing with Ewell, but the Brazilian fell for it and got caught in the exchanges. Ewell now bounces back to win column while Santos drops two straight losses.

Randy Brown defeated Bryan Barberena via TKO in Round 3

The co-main event saw a major upset as welterweight Randy Brown stopped Brian with a flurry of perfectly timed body shots. Brown was previously knocked out 11 months ago by Niko Price and was determined to get his hand raised. Brown came in with a height advantage which he made good use of by out striking the UFC veteran before he landed the major blow that put Brian on the mat at 2:54 secs of the second round. Brian used leg kicks to stop Brown’s momentum but the Dana White Contender Series vet showed resilience and continued with his game plan. A big win for Brown who despite his grandmother’s death last tuesday continued to fight and dedicate the win to her. Brown is now 5-3 inside the octagon while Barbarena suffered his second consecutive stoppage loss. Barbarena is 1-3 in his past four outings.

Chan Sung Jung defeated Renato Carneiro via TKO Round 1

In the main event, the Korean Zombie made a triumphant return from his previous loss to knock out Renato Moicano in the first round with just under a minute. Jung comes out firing with a fast low kick that instantly gets Renato to pay attention. Jung continues to throw jab and hooks to get Moicano react. A lasy right cross from Moicano, Jung slips and connects with a massive overhand right followed by a left hook that drops Moicano to the canvas. Jung follows him down to the mat to finish him with ground and pound but it takes few more seconds for Jung to reverse him and rain down punches. The referee jumps in to stop the fight at :58 secs of the first round. Jung picked up a $50,000 win for his fifth career knockout as he handed Moicano his second knockout loss.
