Earlier this year, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather posted a video of him saying ‘2018’ and entering an MMA cage symbolising his entry into the MMA. Just a month ago, it appeared that an MMA fight with former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor could be a done deal in near future.
However in a recent interview, Mayweather claclaims he’s too busy.
“I’m so busy, I got so many different things going on the outside (of fighting). You know, I really focus on my children. If you haven’t heard, I’m building the tallest building in New York City,” he continued, referring to his investment in the ONE Vanderbilt building.
However Mayweather hasn’t dismissed the idea completely.
“Two weeks from now, you could do an interview with me, cause I can contradict myself, so two weeks from now, you could ask me the question and guess what I’m gonna say, I’m fighting in the MMA,” said Mayweather.
“And then two months from then, I’d say I’m not fighting in the MMA, I’m not fighting in boxing.”
