UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Nicco Montano is not happy with Ariel Helwani after he put out a tweet saying that the UFC was not happy with its flyweight champion due to her lack of response to fight with Valentina Shevchenko on July 28 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Nicco won the inaugural UFC Women’s flyweight strap in 26th season of The Ultimate Fighter, where she defeated fellow contender Roxanne Modafferi by unanimous decision.
Ariel Helwani who is a famous reporter for MMA Fighting, in his tweet suggested that the UFC was losing patience with Nicco after she did not agree to the July 28 date against contender Valentina Shevchenko which led to fans bashing Nicco on Twitter, Instagram and other social media platform, potentially suggesting a Germaine de Randamie like situation where the champion was ducking a known contender (in that case Cris Cyborg) and later vacated the belt.

Nicco’s response
Nicco Montana apparently had a surgery due to a bacterial infection which has kept her out of action in 2018. Nicco responded to Ariel with a fiery Instagram post.
“This just in…. [Ariel Helwani] is a huge waste of space,” Montano said in her Instagram post. “Everyone and their grandma knows about my condition. I’m 5 days post tonsillectomy and adenoid removal surgery due to a bacterial infection that’s been inhibiting my practice all year. Soonest I can get back on the mats is 16 more days. The UFC not only knows about this but flew me out to Vegas themselves to get this surgery done ASAP so I can jump on getting a fight with Shevchenko lined up. If you’ve been a fan of mine then you know my mind set… no girl is anything I’m not. Who’s scared to fight? It’s what I do, it’s literally why I’m the anomaly here, because I was ranked number 14 on the show and came out number one. It’s apparently in douchebag’s best interest to throw my name out to the wolves in order to stay relevant. I literally haven’t spoken a word in 5 days due to my condition and Mr. Poor Excuse of a Man has not only brought it upon himself to be the leader of idiot fans who don’t know the difference between MMA and UFC but also has the b*lls the size of a baby rat to say I’m scared while key board warrior over here is more than likely to eat a fat man’s a** than get in the octagon with HIS 125lbs Champ… 🎤drop. …….. lesson of the day, don’t believe everything you read, idiots run their mouths. Tim Means who is a team mate of Nicco at Fit NHB in Albuquerque, New Mexico has tweeted that Ariel tweeted this false news due to the fact that Nicco did not respond to Ariel’s attempts to get her on his show ‘The MMA Hour’.
