Michelle Waterson defeated Cortney Casey via split decision

With considerable height disadvantage Waterson looked timid in the opening round and hesitant to engage. Casey looked confident and kept on moving forward landing a solid punch that stumbled Waterson. But as the round progressed, Waterson began to open up and mixed her striking with her wrestling taking down Casey with ease. With each takedown from Waterson, Casey attempted a submission. Waterson was able to make the adjustments and tripped Casey when she was pinned to the cage. Using her trademark front kick and roundhouse kick she put Casey in trouble. In the final moments of the 3rd round Casey was almost close enough to tap out Waterson, but she was saved by the bell.

Israel Adesanya Defeated Marvin Vettori via split decision

For the very first time in his career, Israel went on the distance fighting full three rounds as Vettori put on a tough performance to give the undefeated fighter his first 3 round experience. The height and reach advantage did play in the favour of Adesanya, who relied on his crisp jabs and inside leg kicks to keep Vettori guessing. But as the rounds progresses, Vettori realized he couldn’t do much on the stand up and went on to take Adesanya to the ground. His take down attempts were met with intelligent defense but finally Vettori was able to take Adesnya down. Quick to get back on the feet, the middleweight prospect showed everyone his defense game and proved he could even handle the wrestlers. Not a solid performance like his previous fight, but Adesnya still gets to raise his hands.

Alex Oliveira defeated Carlos Condit via Submission

Stepping on a two weeks short notice, Alex stepped up his game and got the biggest win of his career over his idol Carlos Condit. From the first round, Condit looked like his usual self as he got the better of the Brazilian in the stand up. Alex stuck in there and tried taking him to the ground but Condit was relentless in his defense and attempted a choke in the first round. In the second, Alex kept moving forward until he landed the takedown. Condit fought back with his up kicks and soon began landing some of his trademark strikes that left a cut open on the Brazilian’s forehead. Tables turned when Alex was on the ground and landed a huge up kick right on the chin from there he gets him in a headlock. Alex wraps Condit in a tight guillotine as they stand up right when Condits legs give up and they go to the ground. The choke is deep and Condit is not responding but the referee still lets the fight continue up until Condit had to tap out.

Dustin Poirier Defetaed Justin Gaethje via TKO

The legendary chin of Justin Gaethje was put to test by the smart and accurate striker Dustin Poirier who put on a clinic with his long combinations. Dustin looked like he wanted to prove a point and began pouring in head strikes that instantly landed some cuts on Justin’s face. But the all american wrestler decided to use his leg kicks to stop the onslaught of Dustin. But the toughness of Dustin out struck Gaethje and he continued to land big bombs up until the third round when the eye pokes paused the fight. Referee had to deduct a point from Gaethje for his repeated eye pokes. Once the fight resumed, Dustin landed a bomb on Justin’s chin that sent him wobbling all over unable to come to senses. Dustin sensed it was the end of the fight and continued with his long combinations until the referee had to step in to stop the fight.
