Before the war between James Vick and Justin Gaethje has actually begun inside the Octagon, the duo has already started a war of words on Twitter.
James Vick has been bought in as a replacement for Al Iaquinta, after the latter refused to fight at the main event of UFC Lincoln.
The taunting began from Gaethje’s end who took a jibe at Vick while breaking the news about his new opponent on Twitter.
Looks like I’ll be eating @JamesVickMMA chicken legs for dinner August 25 in Lincoln

Not the one to take any sort of insult lying down, Vick fired back instantly.
Looks like instead of you having 5 fights left in your career i beat you senseless and you maybe have 2 left after that. https://t.co/TDIhsV7sLU

And after this the duo went back and forth with neither of them showing any signs of stopping.
You will be begging another 2 yrs for a shot at top ten when I show you for the bitch ass point fighter you are.

calm down you punch drunk jackass. Please don't take to many beating during sparring that you can't make it to the fight.
— James Vick (@JamesVickMMA) June 28, 2018
Dam you are supposed to make this fun. You are welcome now you get to tell your friends you fought in a Ufc main even.
— Justin Gaethje 🇺🇸 (@Justin_Gaethje) June 28, 2018
I actually do appreciate you takin the fight, especially when you know it'll be your 3rd knockout loss in a row and you'll be getting cut. So thanks. Hey don't worry you can always go back to the regional circuit again and pad your record against more tomato cans.

3/4 main event. Don’t bring me down to your level. You get cut after 3 losses, I do not. When you figure out how that works you will be better off.
— Justin Gaethje 🇺🇸 (@Justin_Gaethje) June 29, 2018
well at least we've both established that you're taking your 3rd loss in a row.
— James Vick (@JamesVickMMA) June 29, 2018
You so witty James

Praised and criticised by the fans and the MMA community for his barn burner style of fighting, Gaethje will look to prevent a hat-trick of losses after suffering back to back TKO losses, which also happened to be the first losses of his professional career.
Vick, on the other hand, is a promising prospect with a 13-1 professional record. However, just like Gaethje tweeted, this will be the first time he will be in a UFC main event.
