UFC: Jessica-Rose Clark pulled from UFC Milwaukee due to botched weight cut’ releases statement

Thought adding new weight classes would sort out the weight cutting issues? Well think again!

In an another case of weight cutting mishap, women’s flyweight prospect Jessica-Rose Clark who was scheduled to fight Andrea Lee in the prelims of UFC on Fox 31, has pulled out of her fight due to a weight cutting issue.

Clark took to Twitter to break her silence regarding the issue. Clark reportedly passed out while cutting weight Friday morning before she was declared medically unfit to fight. (via Twitter):

“I’m ok,” Clark wrote. “Really upset, but happy to be here. This camp has been a roller coaster but I thought it would all be ok when I got to fight. Weight cut was more on track than any before. Body gave up on me though. Lesson learned. I’ll post a video later tonight. Thanks for all the love.”

Clark has had issues with making weight in the past. She missed weight by two pounds against Bec Rawlings on her UFC debut back in November 2017.

Lee on the other hand also took to. Instagram to address the situation. Lee issued a classy statement hoping Clark is healthy. (via Instagram):

“I know Jess wanted to fight as badly as I did and it’s just unfortunate how these things turn out, I hope she is well and healthy,” Lee wrote. “It sucks for the both of us. Please don’t talk shit, it’s over and we are focused on the next.”
