UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier shocked the world by knocking out Stipe Miocic to become the UFC heavyweight champion.
To watch the action in the attendance was former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, setting him up to face the winner of the fight between Miocic and Cormier. Cormier called out Lesnar in his post-fight octagon interview, making the title shot to Lesnar inevitable. However UFC color commentator Joe Rogan believes Stipe Miocic deserves an immediate rematch against Cormier. He explained his thoughts on the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show this week.

“He should [get a rematch],” Rogan told Bryan Callen on the show (transcribed by Jed Meshew for MMA Fighting). “People are thinking, the guy wins more UFC title defenses than anybody in the history of the sport and becomes the most accomplished heavyweight of all time. Think about what he’s done. Think about the fact that he knocks out Fabricio Werdum to win the title, he knocks out Alistair Overeem to defend the title, he knocks out Junior dos Santos, beats Francis [Ngannou] when everybody is terrified of Francis. He became the most accomplished heavyweight of all time. Then he gets knocked out by a crazy, perfect punch by Daniel Cormier in a perfect strategy.”
