Jose Torres made his UFC debut this past week at UFC Utica. Torres, who was a two-division champion prior to his entry into the UFC, was apparently aiming for a third title before he got the call from UFC.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Torres said that he was going for the Titan FC Featherweight championship and was putting on weight for the same. He also revealed that he worked with weight management specialists to get him back on track for his UFC debut.
“That was easily the hardest weight cut mentally that I’ve ever done. Physically, I knew we could do it. But mentally, it’s draining on the body,” he said.
Torres, who secured a second-round KO victory against Jarred Brooks at UFC Utica, now holds a professional record of 8-0 to his name. The 25-year-old was the reigning Flyweight and Bantamweight champion at Titan FC as well. He also had an illustrious amateur career which saw him pile up wins at the IMMAF World Championships.
