Kelvin Gastelum could be next in line for a shot at the UFC Middleweight championship. Robert Whittaker secured his second win over Yoel Romero last day at UFC 225 and now that Romero is out of the title picture, Gastelum thinks he should get a shot.
He revealed the same during a recent interview.
“I haven’t been told I’m next in line, but I mean, who else would be in line? I mean, (Chris Weidman) – maybe?. I’m one of the most active middleweights fighting in the top 10 among middleweights worldwide. I’ve been winning. I mean, I lost one against Weidman, but out of my last six, I’ve won five – not counting the no-contest,” he said. (via MMA Junkie)
Gastelum is currently 15-3 in his career and is currently on a two-fight winning streak as well thanks to wins over former champion Michael Bisping and Ronaldo Souza.
