UFC: Kevin Lee responds to Khabib’s ‘Be Humble’ warning after Iaquinta loss

UFC on Fox 31 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin featured a pivotal lightweight matchup as 8 ranked Al Iaquinta (14-4-1 MMA, 9-3 UFC) defeated #4 ranked Kevin Lee (17-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) via unanimous decision in their rematch.

Iaquinta went in a fairly heavy underdog against Lee however managed to get the job done winning three rounds on two scorecards and four rounds on one. In his own words, a ‘Devastated’ Lee claimed it was the most embarrassing loss of his entire career.

However to rub salt on Lee’s wounds came in the UFC lightweight champion Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov first congratulated his former opponent Iaquinta for getting the job done. However recommended Lee to have a slice of good old humble pie, as an aftermath of Lee’s comments that he finds ‘holes’ in Nurmagomedov’s game.

Lee however wasn’t holding back as he took to Instagram to address the topic. (via Instagram):

Lee posted, “I beat racism, the system, poverty and everybody that wanna see me lose for no reason. F**k being humble.”

Growing up in Detroit, Lee had to deal with a troubled surroundings. Dealing with all the social evils of the society, Lee began wrestling during his junior year and continued it at Grand Valley State University, where he was a national tournament qualifier and went 37–0 as a senior. However, with two years left of wrestling eligibility at the school, Lee dropped out to focus on a career in MMA.
