Few weeks ago at UFC’s 25th year anniversary fall press conference, UFC 229 got it’s main event as former featherweight and lightweight champion ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor will make his much anticipated return to take on UFC lightweight champion Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov on October 6.

Since then the card has been shaping up nicely and #5 ranked lightweight Kevin ‘The Motown Phenom’ Lee wants a spot on it.

Unfortunately no opponent has been ready to sign the dotted line to fight Lee on October 6. However that does not stop the former interim title challenger as he has already started a camp without an opponent. Lee (17-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) took to Instagram to reveal the news. (via Instagram):

Lee recently called out Al Iaquinta and even Iaquinta agreed to the bout, however he is injured which forced him to pull out from his bout against Justin Gaethje on August 25 at Fight Night Lincoln.

Lee is coming of an impressive fifth round TKO against a highly ranked Edson Barboza at Fight Night 128 back in April.
