Rise to speculation and theories

According to Eric Kowal, UFC is having trouble locating Khabib Nurmagomedov which has given rise to a lot speculation among fans as to the possible reason for this situation. The last social media activity of Khabib was a photo he posted on Instagram about 3 hours ago, which again could be posted by his social media manager. Khabib was also involved in an altercation with Conor McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov and ending up slapping the Russian fighter in the lobby. This altercation stemmed due to the fact that Artem had talked a lot of trash about Khabib on social media and in an interview where he called Khabib a ‘p**sy’ for pulling out of fights and implying the the Russian fans weren’t happy with him for that reason.

Weight cut issues?

A possible reason for his absence at the media obligations could be issues with his weight cut. At UFC 209, Khabib when he suffered complications after the weight cut was rushed to the hospital by his manager Ali Abdel Aziz without informing the UFC due to which the fight had to be called off. Khabib also admitted in an recent interview that he is not using the services of a nutritionist for this fight, which is worrying news especially on the back of the UFC 209 complications.

Fans are awaiting any confirmation from UFC or Dana White on this issue with bated breath while hoping the UFC 223 card does not suffer another cancellation.
