UFC 219 saw Khabib Nurmagomedov, manhandle and maul top lightweight contender and sensational striker, Edson Barboza. Such was the Russian’s dominance that he quite literally took away Barboza’s soul and left him in a pool of his own blood. Many fans and pundits alike believe that the ‘Eagle’ is stylistically a very bad match-up for the current UFC lightweight champion, Conor McGregor. Thus, many people feel that “Mystic Mac” will lose a bout against Nurmagomedov with relative ease. However, if former UFC interim lightweight title challenger, Kevin Lee is to be believed then McGregor will easily knock-out Nurmagomedov in a potential bout.

Will ‘The Eagle’ be able to maul Conor?

“The Motown Phenom” is a young twenty-five year old fighter with a MMA record of 16-3. He is at the peak of his fitness which has led him to become a highly active fighter. The former amateur wrestler last fought inside the octagon at UFC 216 where he competed for the interim lightweight title against Tony Ferguson. Even though he dominated the early rounds, he still ended up losing the fight via submission in the third round due to a triangle choke. He is currently expected to face Edson Barboza at UFC Fight Night 128.

‘The Eagle’ is still undefeated in his MMA career with a record of 25-0. He is also currently on a nine fight winning streak inside the octagon.

Lee told MMAnytt in an interview that he expects “The Notorious” to easily knock-out Nurmagomedov. Here’s what he told MMAnytt:

“I think Conor would get him, And it would blow people’s minds, and it would blow them out of proportion. They would think Conor was some magical god. People are stupid anyway. But in the real of what it is, Khabib is very hittable. He has a lot of holes in his game. He doesn’t really seem to be patching those holes. He doesn’t fight very often, you don’t get to see them. But the same Khabib that showed up against Edson [Barboza] was the same one that showed up against [Rafael Dos Anjos] six years ago. If they were to fight, I would honestly lean towards McGregor. [But] First Khabib has got to try and get through Tony [Ferguson].”
