Now that the holy month of Ramadan is over, the UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is all set and ready to make his first title defense. His title fight at UFC 223 was marred by the antics and hooliganism of former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor. Now that Conor has accepted a plea deal and is free to compete, the two seem to be on a collision course with each other.
In a recent interview, Khabib was asked about McGregor’s legal troubles finally ending. The Daegestani stated that he was eager to fight McGregor because he wanted to make him humble and wants to “change his face”. He also claimed that it their rivalry is personal to him. Here’s what he stated:
You know I can believe we are going to fight because I really want this guy, make him humble, little bit teach him and…you know not only smash, but change his face. I wanna change his face. Of course with face, I can change his mind too and this is what I want.
Of course (on whether it’s personal for him), long time ago. Three months for me is long time ago.
