UFC added three fresh bouts on their card in Boise, Idaho on July 14. One of them being Said Nurmagomedov (11-1 MMA) vs UFC veteran Justin Scoggins (11-4 MMA, 4-4 UFC) in a flyweight bout.

Said Nurmagomedov is a cousin of UFC Lightweight champion Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov. The Englishmen were first known to make their presence felt under the leadership of former middleweight champion Michael Bisping. Then, the Irishmen ‘took over’ having former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor as their pioneer. Now the Russian’s have started to pile up in the UFC.

Russian dominance in the sport of MMA in general began since the Pride days when Fedor ‘the Last Emperor’ Emelianenko took the world by storm. UFC already had talented Russians like Rustom Khabilov, Omari Akhmedov, Ruslan Magomedov, Magomed Mustafaev, Shamil Abdurakhimov and much more however with an expected UFC card for the first time in Russia, even more Russians like Zabit Magomedsharipov, Islam Makhachev, Adbul-Kerim Edilov, Mairbek Taisumov, Magomed Bibulatov have risen to the occasion. The most common martial arts base in Russia is ‘Sambo’ which translates efficiently into MMA and with trainers like Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who is the father of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Russians have been able to make smooth transition into MMA.

Said Nurmagomedov is ready to make his UFC debut. His only setback has been a decision loss to current UFC Flyweight Magomed Bibulatov. He is well rounded and has two wins by TKO and three wins by submission.

Scoggins on the other hand will look to snap a two fight losing streak after a submission defeat to Ulka Sasaki back in June at Fight Night 111. He has a win over former title challenger Ray Borg.
