UFC Long Island Result: Yair Rodriguez wins via Round 1 TKO as Brian Ortega's shoulder dislocates

Brian Ortega sustained a shoulder dislocation in the first round of his clash against Yair Rodriguez and went down in the main event of UFC Long Island which took place on 16th July at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.

The headliner marked the return of both Ortega and Rodriguez after they both suffered losses in their last respective outings in the Octagon. The bout opened up on level headed offenses from both fighters, before the action dropped to the canvas.

However, moments after “El Pantera” attempted to lock in an armbar, the right shoulder of Ortega popped out as the fight passed the four minute mark of the first round. “T-City” was rendered unable to continue, awarding Rodriguez the victory via TKO.
