UFC: Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping take digs at each other

Former UFC middleweight champions Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold have developed quite a bitter rivalry in the past few days. There has always been a lot enmity between them, though they have started to hate each other even more now. The pair are currently busy trading shots at each other via interviews and over social media. There future fights are currently undecided and there is a lot of speculation going on that they might end up fighting each other. Rockhold recently did an interview with Flocombat. He challenged Bisping and said that if “The Count” beats him in a trilogy fight then he will retire from the sport. The Englishman replied on Twitter by asking the fans whether he should “retire Rockhold”.

Rockhold won the UFC middleweight title by defeating Chris Weidman at UFC 194, though he lost the title in his next bout against Bisping at UFC 199. Bisping went on to defend the belt once against Dan Henderson at UFC 204 and later lost the title to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217.

The two fighters first faced each other at UFC Fight Night 55. Rockhold won their first bout with relative ease by dominating the striking exchanges and later submitting “The Count” via a guillotine choke in the second round. In their second fight, Bisping had shocked the world by knocking-out the American in the first round.

Rockhold had previously revealed that he was in discussions with UFC to fight Bisping at light heavyweight. However, the Mancunian had denied Rockhold’s claims and had stated that Rockhold shouldn’t be so keen to getting knocked-out again and should stick to his modelling career.

The former A.K.A man recently responded to Bisping’s comments in an interview given to FloCombat. Here’s what he said:

I’ll put it on this: If Bisping beats me in this fight, I’ll be the motherf*cker who retires, if Bisping beats me in this fight, this will be my retirement fight. I’d love to shut his mouth.

If you’re going to run your mouth that much, if you’re a man, back it up. We will soon see. He’s opened his mouth, he said a lot of things, and now he’s been backtracking a bit. Put your money where your mouth is. You want to f*cking run your mouth and say I was an easy fight, you say you can beat me up anytime. Any f*cking time…Step in the cage and prove it. Let’s finish it.

Bisping later responded to the interview on Twitter. Here’s what he tweeted:

Things are surely heating up between the two. Though, it’s still to be seen whether a trilogy fight will happen or not.
