It’s no secret that the former UFC middleweight champions, Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping have a serious disliking for each other. The pair share a long running rivalry with each other and have continued to throw shade at each other. They have faced each other twice before in the octagon and both have a victory each over the other. While the hopes of a third fight between the duo looked slim, Rockhold has now revealed that the pair might soon actually lock horns again.

Michael Bisping knocks Luke Rockhold out at UFC 199!

Rockhold has a MMA record of 16-4. He put on a sensational four fight winning streak on his way to the UFC middleweight title and then defeated the champion, Chris Weidman via TKO due to punches at UFC 194. He later lost his title to rival, Bisping in his first defense as the champion via KO due to punches at UFC 199. Since then he had gained some momentum after defeating former WSOF middleweight and light heavyweight champion, David Branch via submission due to punches at UFC Fight Night 116. He was expected to challenge Robert Whittaker for the middleweight title but instead fought Yoel Romero after Whittaker was forced to pull out due to a staph infection. The American lost the bout at UFC 221 for the interim middleweight title via KO due to punches.

On the other hand, Bisping lost his title to Georges St-Pierre at UFC 217 via technical submission due to a rear-naked choke. He then hastily got back into the octagon against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 122 just a month after his defeat at UFC 217. He paid the price for rushing back to the octagon and was brutally knocked-out by Gastelum.

Rockhold recently made an appearance at MMA Fighting’s, The MMA Hour. On the show, he confirmed all the rumours about him fight “The Count”. The former A.K.A man claimed that the talks about a trilogy fight against the Mancunian was in a “discussion”. However, one thing that should be noted is Rockhold’s revelation that he wants to do the bout at light heavyweight. Here’s what he had to say:

“You know that’s a fight that, if it’s on the table, I’m gonna have to put that at the front of the line before I do anything else, if he can back up what he just said, I’ll be very willing to take that fight any where, any time.

Let’s make it a little more intriguing, Let’s bring it to 205.

Why don’t we do this thing in style? Let’s sign on the bottom line. … I know this is a fight the UFC is pursuing. So, we’ll see. We’ll see if Bisping can back up his mouth once again.”
