Premier Mixed Martial Arts Organisation UFC today confirmed that MMA legend Mark “The Super Samoan” Hunt will fight Russia’s own Aleksei “The Boa Constrictor” Oleinik in a five-round main event battle in Moscow on Saturday, September 15. Initially, Fabricio Werdum was supposed to fight Oleinik, but the former UFC heavyweight champion was notified of a potential doping violation from USADA, which oversees the UFC’s drug testing program.
Mark Hunt has won only one of his last four fights, in his last fight, he was beaten by unanimous decision by rising UFC Heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes who is on a five-fight win streak.
Oleinik, 40 gets the honor of headlining the main card in his country which is also the first UFC event to ever take place in Russia, so this makes it an extra special moment for Oleinik and he will be looking forward to pleasing his hometown crowd. In his last fight, Oleinik submitted Junior Albini in May. He is 3-1 in his last four UFC fights and holds a win over a notable name like Travis Browne.
Mark Hunt could also become the oldest UFC fighter to win inside the Octagon.
Currently, the record is held by UFC Legend Randy Couture, who won a heavyweight title aged 43 and, three years later, beat James Toney at UFC 118.
