In the build-up to the main-event fight between Marlon Moraes and Jimmie Rivera, plenty of trash-talking and bad blood was involved, not between the fighters but between Rivera and Moraes’ manager, Ali Abdelaziz instead. However, it seems that all the bad blood is now over, as Abdelaziz posted a tweet praising Rivera after his fight at UFC Fight Night 131.
Things turned sour between the two after an altercation in which Rivera has alleged that Abdelaziz made a “nasty” comment about Rivera’s wife. Abdelaziz had instead claimed that the comment wasn’t directed towards Rivera’s wife but towards him instead. Abdelaziz had also claimed that Rivera was ducking and avoiding a fight against his client, Moraes.
Rivera lost the bout against Moraes via KO in the first round. Abdelaziz then posted a tweet after the fight praising Rivera. Here’s what he had to say:
Nothing but respect for Jimmy Rivera and his family. Without a doubt one of the best fighters in the world. Keep your head up champ. You’ll be back stronger.
