Megan Anderson will be making her much-awaited UFC debut this weekend when she fights Holly Holm at UFC 225. The fight is a game changer for the UFC’s Women’s featherweight division and many see this as a title eliminator as well.
Though there is a lot of pressure on her to deliver, Megan says that she has nothing to prove in her fight with Holly Holm.
“I don’t feel like I really have to prove anything. People are going to say whatever they want to say, no matter how I win, or what happens, or how I perform, everyone’s going to have their personal opinion,” she said. (via MMA Junkie)
Megan was touted to fight Cris Cyborg for the title initially but UFC decided to book the fight with Holm instead at UFC 225. The Australian added that she is still open to fighting Cyborg at some point in the future.
“I was excited to watch her be able to achieve her dream. Really, it’s about creating fights in this division, and for a long time, it was just fights with Cris. But we’re starting a new phase now,” she added.
Megan is currently 8-2 in her career and is on a four-fight winning streak.
