UFC 226 lost it’s exciting co-main event as UFC featherweight champion Max ‘Blessed’ Holloway was forced to pull out from the fight. The promotion was looking for a replacement however reportedly the bout might be shifted to UFC 227 in August.
Holloway was reportedly suffering from ‘concussion’ like symptoms. Holloway was rushed to the hospital on Monday and was suffering from slurred speech and impaired vision. After spending the entire night, Holloway was released. Holloway reportedly ‘crashed’ after the open workouts on Wednesday and was very difficult to wake up. Therefore, Holloway made the decision to pull out of UFC 226.
Another man who knows a thing or two about weight cut is former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping. Bisping noticed that something was a little off with Holloway. Bisping claimed Holloway looked ‘a little sleepy’ during his interview on UFC Tonight.
“You say you feel great, and don’t be offended when I say this, but you look like you just got out of bed,” Bisping said to Holloway, per Sherdog.com. “Are you tired, what’s going on, how’s the weight cut? Are you drained? You look a little sleepy.”
Holloway however said everything is alright.
“I’m good man. A little bit tired. They got me doing a bunch of media stuff, but I’ll be fine, Holloway responded. “I can’t wait. I can’t wait to go out there and do the damn thing.”
