Michael Bisping might’ve retired from MMA but he is in no mood to stay away from the sport. In a recent interview, the former Middleweight champion came down hard on Yoel Romero who missed weight ahead of the UFC 225 main event fight.
Romero was around .2 pounds heavier than the weight which was required for the championship showdown. Interestingly, this is the second straight time that Romero is missing weight for a championship fight.
Bisping held nothing back while expressing his displeasure and had the following to say.
“Who does this guy think he is? He thinks the whole UFC revolves around him. … Making weight sucks. But you can’t miss weight twice on two title fights and still think you’re running the show. C’mon.” he said. (via MMA Junkie)
Bisping also provided his thoughts on the .2 pound difference that caused the whole problem.
“I’m not the first person to jump to Yoel Romero’s defense, but I will say this: It’s a tricky one. OK, he pushed himself too far to where he was within an inch of his life, that’s why the commission stepped in. But really? 0.2 pounds? That’s not a lot. Forgive me for being crude, but you can go to the bathroom and get rid of that pretty quick,” he added.
