UFC will visit Liverpool for the first time at Fight Night 130 as hometown scouser #8 ranked welterweight contender Darren Till (16-0-1 MMA, 4-0-1 UFC) takes on #1 ranked two-time welterweight title challenger Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson (14-2-1 MMA, 9-2-1 UFC).
The bout will be a interesting fight as it holds title implications in the near future. There are high chances of a finish being served to the Liverpool fans.
However there will be some interesting changes in the FOX booth as well as #9 ranked lightweight contender Michael ‘the Maverick’ Chiesa will make his debut as an analyst.
Chiesa is recovering from a forehead laceration he suffered during the infamous UFC 223 choas caused by former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, and he seems to be spending his time fairly productively. On Saturday, Chiesa will be joined by former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping, commentator Jimmy Smith and host Karyn Bryant to host the weigh-ins show on FS2. On Sunday, Chiesa will be the part of pre-event and post-event shows.
Earlier today the FOX Sports officials confirmed their team for the event. The card will feature fighter/color commentator Dan Hardy and play-by-play man Brendan Fitzgerald in the broadcast booth. Hardy usually covers European events of the UFC.
Another fighter associated with the card is UFC flyweight Brandon Moreno who will call the fights in Spanish alongwith Victor Davila for FOX Deportes. Reporter Megan Olivi will be on site with updates from Liverpool.
Last weekend, former women’s bantamweight title challenger Valentina Shevchenko made her debut to call the fights of UFC Chile for FOX Deportes.
