Phillip Jack Brooks is a former two-time WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) champion and one of the longest reigning champions of the organization, but he has since switched over to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Phillip Jack Brooks is more famously known by his given ring name ‘CM Punk’. Brooks started out in the local wrestling circuit as a part of the tag team, The Chick Magnets – thus CM Punk. CM Punk prefers to be called by the name that has given him all fame and success, but one person is not having none of it.

‘His momma call him Phil, I’m gonna call him Phil’ – Mike ‘The Truth’ Jackson

Mike ‘The Truth’ Jackson will be facing CM Punk at UFC 225 in Punk’s hometown Chicago. Jackson though does not buy the hype and isn’t looking to give him any kind of respect when they come face to face.

Talking to Ariel Helwani on the The MMA Hour, he had to say this.

‘His momma call him Phil, I’m gonna call him Phil’

“That’s his name — Phil Brooks,”

“The whole CM Punk thing, I guess he’s trying to bring that gimmick over from the professional wrestling.

Look, the CM Punk guy, he’s dying June 9 at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago.” Jackson told Helwani.

Mike Jackson, who has 1 MMA fight in his career, incidentally could have been CM Punk’s first opponent in the octagon. That chance however fell to prospect, Mickey Gall. Gall beat Mike Jackson in an eliminator – to find out who will be Punk’s first opponent. Gall went onto finish CM Punk in the first round at UFC 203. Mike Jackson, who has an identical MMA record to CM Punk at 0-1(both lost to Mickey Gall), has been campaigning for a fight with Punk, ever since.

“Vince McMahon could not have written a better storyline,” Jackson said.

“The redemption story of CM Punk being ended by ‘The Truth’ at UFC 225.”

‘The Truth’, a professional photographer, video-grapher and overall entertainer, however knows what he is getting into when he walks out at UFC 225 in Chicago. Chicago is Punk’s hometown and they still chant his name when WWE come over to town.

“I’m expecting a sort of hostile crowd,” Jackson said. “But again, those people aren’t gonna be in the cage with Phil. They can boo me all they want to. Actually, I enjoy the boos.”

“The main objective here is to build the Mike ‘The Truth’ entertainment brand,”

“That’s what we’re here about. So, although I know I’m gonna be walking out to a lot of boos, eventually I want to turn those fans over and bring them to ‘The Truth’ side.”

Whatever might be result of this fight, Mike ‘The Truth’ Jackson is bound to be a household name after the fight. UFC 225 goes to floors on June 9, 2018 at the United Center at Chicago, Illinois. The card is headlined by a middleweight title rematch between Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero. The card also co-features an interim welterweight title bout between the outspoken Colby Covington and former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
