Yesterday, a video of UFC welterweight Mike Perry punching an old man outside of a restaurant was making rounds on social media.

The incident occurred at Table 82 restaurant in Lubbock at 10:30 pm Tuesday night in Texas. The UFC has weighed in on the situation and stated that the UFC star will have to seek professional treatment.

UFC also stated that Mike Perry will not be offered a fight at this time. According to sources, prior to the video being circulated on the internet, Mike Perry had already punched another man in the restaurant.

The man who Perry punched earlier stated that he didn’t touch him to warrant that punch from the UFC fighter, which seemed to have angered him.

Oh, you didn’t touch me?” Perry screamed sarcastically.

After going back and forth with the unidentified man, Mike Perry went off at another old man seating outside the restaurant.

Man, I’ll knock your old a** out too – you old piece of s***.” Perry said while being provoked by the old man.

It didn’t take long for Perry to land a punch and floor the old man. According to the local police department, no charges were filed and Perry wasn’t arrested. However, an investigation is pending. The old man landed hard on the concrete floor and was carried to a local hospital where he stated that he couldn’t remember the incident.

UFC troubled by Mike Perry’s altercation video

Following the altercation, Mike Perry also used racial slurs and profanities at the restaurant. In a statement released by the UFC, they stated that Mike Perry has apologised for the incident and will be seeing professional counselling.

UFC is aware and troubled by the video that was released last night concerning Mike Perry,” the UFC said in a statement.

The conduct displayed by Perry is not reflective of that of our organization. Perry apologized for his behaviour and acknowledged he was disappointed with himself that his actions may have reflected poorly on UFC. He further acknowledged that he believes he has some issues related to alcohol abuse and has informed UFC that he has committed to immediately seek professional treatment, including substance and behavioural counselling. At this time, UFC has informed Perry that he will not be offered a bout, and the parties have agreed to evaluate the next steps for Perry following the completion of his treatment program.” (H/T – ESPN)
