Just before the UFC 227 ceremonial weigh-ins, the UFC hosted it’s 25th Anniversary Fall Press conference. Couple of days leading up to the press conference, cleared the air over the exciting lightweight division.
It was announced yesterday that the #3 ranked surging lightweight Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier will welcome back the fan favourite Stockton product Nate Diaz at UFC 230 in Madison Square Garden in November.
Diaz showed up to the conference and addressed the reporters in his own ‘gangster’ style. Diaz claimed that he was involved in a lawsuit which made him ineligible to fight for two years.
However later on in the conference, the cat was finally out of the bag as a video clip rolled. A promo aired confirming the return of former featherweight and lightweight champion ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor to take on current UFC lightweight champion Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October.
The fact that he is not fighting on the same card as that of McGregor, seems have not gone well with Diaz as he expressed discontent right after with a tweet. (via Twitter):
I’m not fighting on that show fuk the @ufc

Diaz was also seen exiting the room during the promo. (via MMA nytt YouTube):
