Two weeks back 20-year-old strawweight Maycee Barber introduced herself to the UFC in style when she debuted against Hannah Cifers by winning her fight via TKO in Denver, Colorado.
Maycee Barber was facing short-notice replacement Hannah Cifers, she was totally dominant throughout the fight. She bloodied Ciphers with elbows from the clinch, opening her up with some big cuts and ultimately stopped her in the second round.
Now the UFC newcomer has her eyes set on strawweight contender Paige VanZant who will fight early next year. Although, Paige was supposed to fight Rachael Ostovich at UFC Fight Night 143 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on 19th January. But a sad turn of events took place which led to Ostovich being subjected to domestic abuse which led her to a broken orbital bone. She had to pull out of that event.
Maycee Barber revealed her intentions to fight Paige VanZant on Twitter as she called out the top strawweight contender who will be coming off of nearly a year-long layoff.
