Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father of current UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently in a critical condition and battling for his life in a Moscow Hospital.
The news was first reported by Russian media outlet Sports Express.
According to initial reports, Abdulmanap was hospitalised in Dagestan after getting critically ill. He was admitted after a suspected case of pneumonia, but complications arose because of heart problems. Following this he was flown down to a military hospital in Moscow via a flight.
“Abdulmanap is in a bad condition, he’s in Moscow and in a coma,” the source, who was not named, reportedly told RT. “They didn’t treat him properly in Dagestan, and some complications arose. They flew him to Moscow, where he is now in a military hospital. He’s on his own there, they won’t allow family (to visit)”.
Islam Makachev who is Khabib’s teammate from Russia and is also in the current UFC roster confirmed the news.
“He is in Moscow, he is in critical condition,” Makhachev said.
The news of Abdulmanap’s medical condition was revealed by a Russian journalist Ramazan Rabadanov.
“Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov fell ill,” he said.
“I almost managed to equip the park, took out the garbage, planted an alley of new trees, put beautiful benches along the paths, and yesterday I did not come to the park.
“I hope pneumonia doesn’t really hook my friend and he will come to the park again.”
