With Leon Edwards pulling out of his upcoming fight with Tyron Woodley, UFC needs someone to step up. Former title challenger Colby Covington is ready to step on short notice to take on Woodley.

Tyron Woodley was supposed to make his Octagon return after a year-long layoff this weekend. He was scheduled to fight Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC London.

However, with the coronavirus situation deteriorating in the UK, the fight has been moved from its original scheduled location. UFC asked Leon Edwards to fly out to the US before the travel ban is put in place, but the Briton decided against it.

With Colby Covington wanting to step in on such short notice, the fans have a quality match-up to look up to this weekend. Covington and Woodley have had beef between them for a long time now. The pair have gone back and forth with each other for a long time now.

As soon as the news of Edwards pulling out was released, Colby took to twitter to call out Tyron Woodley.

“Word on the street is @LeonScott is out. The @ufc and America need a hero. Who wants see America’s Champ put the #MAGA cape on and beat the f*ck out of @twooodley live on @ESPN next week for your entertainment and my own personal pleasure?”

“America’s Champ has let the @ufc know he’s available to #KAG and slap the shit out of @twooodley live on @espn for the people! Someone let Tyrone know. That dip shit has me blocked on all platforms because my words “hurt his precious little feelings.” Colby Covington wrote on twitter.

UFC is also highly interested in making this match-up as per Ariel Helwani of ESPN.

Colby Covington is coming off of a fifth-round TKO loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 245 in December last year. Prior to that, he defeated Robbie Lawler in a one-sided fight.

On the other hand, Tyron Woodley is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 last year. Prior to that, he knocked out Darren Till in the second round at UFC 228.
