UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo is scheduled to fight Jose Aldo at UFC 250 on May 10. However, there are concerns, if the fight will go ahead because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Most countries around the world including the US and Brazil have implemented a travel ban. With the Coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc, UFC 250 may be moved from Brazil to the US. In that case, former featherweight champion Jose Aldo won’t be able to leave Brazil or enter the US.
So Henry Cejudo is already ahead of the curve and has already suggested a potential opponent in case he is unable to fight Aldo at UFC 250. Cejudo called out former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz last month.
Since #UFC249 is in jeopardy because we can’t get Khabib out of Russia. So Just in case we can’t get Jose Baldo into America soil, make sure to bring your untailored tuxedo that you wear every Saturday long with yours balls! Because you’re on deck sweetheart. ❤️ @DominickCruz pic.twitter.com/1LaGGavqe2

Dominick Cruz ready to fight Henry Cejudo at UFC 250
Now it looks like that Dominick Cruz has accepted the offer to fight Cejudo. He took to Twitter to announce that he has signed the deal to fight Cejudo at UFC 250. He also blasted Cejudo’s trainer Eric Albarracin and said that he was going to slap both of them around.
Dear @HenryCejudo,
The real king has already been told that we’re fighting May 9th. I’ll see you there.
P.S. -Bring your other tiny lil friend @cptdasamericas so I can slap you both around. 👋 👋

“Dear @HenryCejudo, The real king has already been told that we’re fighting May 9th. I’ll see you there. P.S. -Bring your other tiny lil friend @cptdasamericas so I can slap you both around. -Signed, Sealed, Delivered-,” Cruz tweeted.
Earlier this week in an interview with ESPN’ Brett Okamoto, Cruz said that he was ready to replace Aldo at UFC 250.
“Now he’s [Dana White] saying that Aldo might not be able to get in, Yan might not be able to get in, and now the MMA world can know that this fight is a real possibility. That’s really the situation, is that since that can’t come in, it opens up a slot for me to slide in there. I’ll always take a fight with a title. That’s what we do this for, you slide in there and you take the title shot right when it’s there. And realistically, with Aldo and Yan out and this opportunity, why wouldn’t I take it? That’s what I’ve been asking for a long time.” Cruz told ESPN.
UFC has already found the domestic venue for its events. Starting UFC 249, all of the UFC fights will take place at Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California.
