UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo was scheduled to fight Jose Aldo at UFC 250 on May 10. However, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Jose Aldo pulled out of the fight and now Cejudo will fight Dominick Cruz.
UFC had to cancel four of it’s event from March 21 to April 18 because of the pandemic. UFC wanted to host UFC 249 at the Tachi Palace Resort, but Dana White was told to stand down by top brass at ESPN and Disney.
However, earlier today, Dana White confirmed in an interview with Variety that UFC will be up and running from May 9. Dana White said that the fights will take place at UFC’s Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Last week, Cruz took to Twitter to announce that he had accepted the offer to fight Cejudo at UFC 250. Now that UFC is putting together a card for May 9, the fight is likely going to be next.
Dear @HenryCejudo,
