The UFC which already held three successful events this month is ending May with a bang. On May 30th, UFC will be hosting its fourth card of the month featuring former welterweight champion.
Tyron Woodley will be fighting Gilbert Burns in the main card of Fight Night 177 taking place at the Apex facility in Las Vegas. Woodley will be looking to put his name back on the win column. Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Burns stands in his path to rebound with a five-fight win streak that includes his most recent TKO over Demian Maia.
Woodley is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 last year. He was supposed to return in March earlier this year against Leon Edwards in London. The fight had to be cancelled after the lockdown was imposed because of Coronavirus.
Ranking fighters will be jostling to move up in the heavyweight division as #12 Blagoy Ivanov, who launched his career in Japan’s Sengoku, takes on #13 Augusto Sakai. In the women’s flyweight division between #2 Katlyn Chookagian and #12 Antonina Shevchenko, sister of champion Valentina who trains together at Thailand’s Tiger Muay Thai.
The new generation of superstars is going to emerge as Dana White’s Contender Series graduates Kevin Holland and Daniel Rodriguez square off at welterweight, and Roosevelt Roberts and Brock Weaver clash at lightweight.
