UFC welterweight king Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman is quickly becoming one of the most talked about names in the sport.
Not only he has a huge market behind him, with wins over two top welterweights, he’s just getting started. Speaking with Joe Rogan on his podcast, Usman firstly discussed as you how he would liked to be treated by the UFC.
Expectedly, the champ wishes to get paid the heavyweight money by the organization. Usman estimated it to be around $250 million. However Usman made a shocking revelation as to what he would pursued if not fighting. Usman revealed he would been a marriage counselor! He also admitted the fact that it sounds ‘weird’.
“I’m still passionate about [it]” Usman said. “I want to be a marriage counsellor. If I wasn’t fighting, that’s what I would be doing.
“It’s just something about it. I think, personally, I’ve always been very good at being able to step back from situations of what’s going on, keep a level head and be able to dissect what’s going on give advice.”
“It does sound weird but…” Usman added with a laugh.
However if thought objectively, a counselor is something appropriate for the champ. Usman is known for mental toughness which alongwith his skills made a pivotal role in making him the champ. It’s definitely something which he can try to impart on the general population.
“Marriage counsellor would be there… or just a counsellor of some sort.
“When I leave this world, I want to leave it in a better situation than what it came in.”
“Anything is possible.”
Usman is expected to take on superstar and ‘BMF title’ owner Jorge Masvidal in July. Masvidal is certainly one of the most hyped names in the sport alongwith McGregor. A win over Masvidal can solidify Usman as one of the best welterweights to step inside the octagon.
