With coronavirus outbreak putting the world to a grinding halt, sports promotions around the world are struggling to keep their fans happy with the lack of content. UFC is no different and now UFC bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo has started making backup plans in case his fight against Jose Aldo falls through.

Cejudo was scheduled to defend his bantamweight title on May 10 in Sau Paulo, Brazil. The fight was supposed to be the main-event headliner for UFC 250. If Cejudo is unable to fight Aldo, he wants to take on former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.

Cejudo took to social media to call out the former champion.

“Since #UFC249 is in jeopardy because we can’t get Khabib out of Russia. So Just in case we can’t get Jose Baldo into America soil, make sure to bring your untailored tuxedo that you wear every Saturday long with yours balls! Because you’re on deck sweetheart. @DominickCruz.”Henry Cejudo wrote on Twitter.

Dominick Cruz called out Henry Cejudo in January

The former bantamweight champion previously called out Cejudo in January. In his appearance at the food truck diaries, he said that he was ready to fight Cejudo.

Within the next six months. I’m healthy, this year I will fight,” Dominick Cruz said on Food Truck Diaries. “As long as everything stays in line as it has. I learned that a lot of what was stopping me is just been keeping focused on the now and not worrying about things you can’t control… Just training and keeping my body strong.”

It’s just like, let’s do this,” Cruz said on fighting Cejudo. “I’m right here, I’m finally healthy. We’re both coming off shoulder surgery, we’re both from Arizona, we were both on the same national wrestling team. I know his style, I know everything about him, I know his background. I know how he grew up.”

Henry Cejudo is coming off of a TKO win over Marlon Moraes at UFC 238. Following his win, he had to undergo a shoulder surgery because of injuries sustained during the fight.

On the other hand, Dominick Cruz hasn’t competed in over three years. He was last seen in action against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 2017. In this fight, he lost his bantamweight title via a unanimous decision.
