UFC News: Henry Cejudo teases FW title challenge; Champ Volkanovski shoots him down

It looks like the back and forth between Henry Cejudo and Alexander Volkanovski isn’t ending anytime soon. The bantamweight champion took to twitter and uploaded a picture with his girlfriend.

In that picture, Cejudo had two UFC belts with him. Cejudo won the flyweight title in 2018 and bantamweight title in 2019. He also tagged Alexander Volkanovski and said that he was going to get his third belt by beating him.

Showing my girl the next belt I’m going to snatch! @alexvolkanovski I’m coming for your belt you over grown midget! Quadruple C in the making! #bendtheknee #beltcollecter #golddigger,” Henry Cejduo wrote.

It didn’t take long for Volkanovski to respond.

Now now @henrycejudo, don’t go making empty promises on #ValentinesDay,” he responded.

Last month also both Henry Cejudo and Alexander Volkanovski engaged in a funny twitter banter.

It all started during the UFC 246 prelims fight card between Sodiq Yussuf and Andre Fili. In this fight, Yusuff defeated Fili via a 29-28 unanimous decision victory. Volkanovski sent out a tweet, where he jokingly said that he should call out the lost of this fight and tagged Cejudo.

This was a dig at Henry Cejudo, who called out Jose Aldo. The legendary Brazilian is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Marlon Moraes at UFC 245.

Alexander Volkanovski is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Max Holloway at UFC 245. He became the first-ever Aussi born UFC champion. Prior to that, he defeated Jose Aldo at UFC 237 in May of 2019.

Henry Cejudo, on the other hand, hasn’t competed since his win over Marlon Moraes at UFC 238, where he became the UFC bantamweight champion. Since his win, he is adamant about fighting Jose Aldo at UFC 250 in Sao Paulo.

Dana White confirmed last weekend that Henry Cejudo will be defending his title against Jose Aldo at UFC 250 in Sao Paulo in Brazil. This move has received criticism from fans and UFC fighters alike. Top bantamweight contenders like Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling have been very vocal on this issue.

Do you guys think Henry Cejudo is being serious about the prospect of fighting Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title?
