UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones fought Dominick Reyes in February earlier this year at UFC 247. He defended his UFC light heavyweight title with a victory over Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 in an extremely close fight.

The judging in this fight was extremely controversial. The judges scored the fight 48-47, 48-47, 49-46 in favor of Jon Jones.  Fans were turned off by the extremely one-sided scorecards by one of the judges who had Jon Jones winning the fight 4-1.

Reyes has been asking for a rematch ever since the controversial decision took place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Even UFC president Dana White has said that he will be making the rematch between Jones and Reyes next. Jon Jones replied to a fan on Twitter and said that he is willing to fight Reyes if the UFC is willing to make the reward worth the risk

I’d love to fight him again. I’m just waiting for the UFC to make the reward worth the risk. Unless the organization treat it like a super fight, I might as well stay on schedule fighting the next guy in line,” Jon Jones tweeted.
With that being said, there’s another light heavyweight contender in the mix to fight for the title i.e Jan Blachowicz. He is coming off of a first-round TKO win over Corey Anderson at UFC Fight Night event in Rio Rancho. Jon Jones was seated cage side when Blachowicz knocked out Anderson. He also made it clear that he isn’t trying to dodge Reyes if a fight with Blachowicz materializes.

I’ve never dodged anyone, did you see what Jan did to the last brotha he faced?” Jones concluded.

Jon Jones wants catchweight fight before move to heavyweight

Jon Jones has been dominating the UFC’s light heavyweight division since 2008. He has been an unstoppable force and despite few close decisions, the champ hasn’t slowed down. Fans have often wondered when he would take his talents to the heavyweight division and now he has given clarity on this topic.

I’d love to have an exhibition fight at the catchweight of 220lbs before moving up to heavyweight. Who wants to take that L?” Jones tweeted about his heavyweight plans.

Even Jon Jones’ coach Mike Winkeljohn had stated last month that he wanted Jones to move up to heavyweight.

I want Jon to fight whatever motivates him. When he is up for a fight that motivates him he trains at the highest level,” Winkeljohn said to BJPENN.com in an interview last month. “I always wanted him to just continue to clean house at light heavyweight and make his legacy there as opposed to going up to heavyweight. But, at this point, it’s time for Jon Jones to take the big fights [and go up to heavyweight].”

Who do you guys want to see Jones fight next?
