UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal will finally face each other during the international fight week. Ahead of the fight, both fighters have been engaging in tremendous back and forth.
Masvidal has taken the latest dig at Kamaru Usman. The BMF belt holder was recently in Australia for an event called “An Evening With Jorge Masvidal”.
It was an opportunity for the fans to hear untold stories, career highlight and Q&A. During the Q and A session, he was asked predict, how his fight with Usman would go.
“We won’t make it to the fourth round,” Masvidal stated. “What makes me say that? Like Soccer is very big here right? Soccer coach would look at another team and say..we can run the ball this way, we can pass the ball that way…I do the exact same thing.”
“I see how much mistakes he makes, how he puts himself in bad position and I just keep creating formulas in my head.
“But Usman tho???? F**k. If he was here, I could have given you guys a free fight. There just something about his face…I just want to break it. I just want to punch his lying face and beat all those personalities out of him and God willing if he signs that bout agreement for July, it’s going to happen,” Masvidal said.
Dana White teased Jorge Masvidal vs Kamaru Usman
UFC president Dana White teased about this match-up on the Jim Rome Show.
“We’re going to bring them to Vegas,” White said. “Him and Usman will fight in Vegas probably International Fight Week. If [Masvidal] wins, maybe we’ll do his first title defense down here in Miami.”
“That was always the plan, and then whatever happened with them a couple of days ago, whenever that was. We hadn’t announced it yet, but now, this has forced me to announce it.”
Masvidal’s popularity shot through the roof following three consecutive knockout victories last year, with the six-second KO of Ben Asken being the most prominent one.
On the other hand, Usman is coming off of a fifth-round TKO victory over Colby Covington at UFC 245. Prior to that, he won the UFC title by defeated Tyron Woodley at UFC 235.
Who do you guys think will win this fight? Will Kamaru Usman be able to extend his winning streak it will Jorge Masvidal prevail at the end?
