This is not the first time that an MMA fighter has been featured on this show. In the inaugural season Derik Scott, an MMA fighter based out of regional promotion competed in it and finished second overall.
Meanwhile, Tyron Woodley is in talks to fight Gilbert Burn on May 23. Woodley last fought in March of 2019 and has been gunning for his Octagon return since his fight against Leon Edwards fell through this March.
Gilbert Burns is currently riding on a five-fight winning streak. In his last fight, he defeated Demian Maia via TKO in the first round at UFC Fight Night 170 in March. Burns has been calling out Woodley for quite some time now.

While the match-up is highly intriguing, UFC hasn’t officially announced it yet. So far, the promotion has confirmed three fight cards for the month of May.
The UFC events taking place this month are scheduled for May 9, May 13, and May 16. All of these events will take place in Jacksonville, Florida.
