With just two-weeks left for UFC 249 and Khabib Nurmagomedov announcing his withdrawal, Colby Covington and Tyron Woodley have thrown their hats in order to fight at UFC 249.
The pair have a long history of trash-talks. Neither fighter likes each other and the pair have been in talks to fight each other numerous times. Tyron Woodley now wants UFC to respond on if they want to go ahead with UFC 249.
Tyron Woodley took to Instagram to announce that he was training hard and ready to step in to fight at UFC 249 on April 18.
Woodley was scheduled to fight at UFC London but the fight got cancelled after Leon Edwards pulled out. The former UFC welterweight champion last fought at the UFC 235 and lost via unanimous decision to Kamaru Usman.
Tyron Woodley doesn’t think Colby Covington wants to fight
Last week during an Instagram live session Tyron Woodley said that he didn’t think that Covington wants to fight him. He revealed that Covington was asking for a lot of money to fight him.
“It ain’t me,” Woodley said. “He’s asking for astronomical amounts of money — Conor McGregor ain’t making that kind of money. Why do you gotta make that money to fight me? You fought [Kamaru] Usman for what you were scheduled to make. You fought [Rafael dos Anjos], you fought [Robbie Lawler], but when it comes to Tyron Woodley, you want five, six, seven million bucks because you’re scared, and you know you’re going to get smashed, and you know it’s going to be so embarrassing that you may want to retire after this.
“He’s trying to ask for the amount of money that he can go retire in his trailer home in frickin’ Florida with all his B-level, C-level, D-level strippers that he’s hired.” Woodley concluded. (H/T – BJPenn.com)
